Getting Here

By air

Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE) is about 7–8 km west of the centre. Tram Line 2 runs directly from both terminals into town in roughly about 30 minutes; step off around Alsace-Lorraine or Masséna and it's a short walk to rue de la Buffa. There's also a shared-bicycle station right in front of Terminal 1, if you're travelling light and fancy riding in along the sea. Taxis and pre-booked transfers are available too.

Public transport

Gare de Nice-Ville, the main station, is about a 10–15 minutes' walk from the apartment (or one tram stop). It sits on the coastal line that runs to Monaco and Menton and on into Italy, as well as west to Antibes and Cannes, with TGV connections to Paris and, further north, into Switzerland. The modern, air-conditioned tram network ties it all together, linking the airport, station, centre and port — the nearest stops to the apartment, Alsace-Lorraine and Masséna, are just a few minutes' walk away.

By car

Nice is well connected by the A8 motorway, with exits leading straight into the city centre. Once you're here, on-street parking in the Carré d'Or is metered from 09:00 to 20:00, so keep coins or a parking app handy if you're leaving the car on the street during the day. If you'd rather not hunt for a space, a few parking garages are within easy walking distance of the apartment:

• Interparking Grimaldi (rue Maccarani) — 1 minute's walk, with EV charging on site
• Parking Indigo Nice Palais Méditerranée (rue du Congrès) — 4 minutes' walk
• Parking Ruhl Méridien (Promenade des Anglais) — 5 minutes' walk

On foot

Once you're here, you won't need much else: the sea, the Old Town, Place Masséna and the Promenade des Anglais are all within a comfortable walk. And if you'd like to cover more ground, Nice makes it easy to go car-free — Vélo Bleu bike-share docking stations are dotted across the centre, including a few streets from rue de la Buffa, and Lime e-bikes are widely available around town for hopping along the Promenade or up into the hills.
